Security

Gateway Arch National Park takes your safety and security seriously. Here are a few simple guidelines to ensure a safe experience for all visitors.

  • Illustration of items to be placed into security bins

Visitors entering the Gateway Arch facility are subject to search and screening by magnetometer and x-ray equipment, similar to airport security. Security screening is located to the right of the Information Desk in the entry lobby.

  • Illustration of stopwatch

Please allow plenty of time for security screening. During busier times of the year, expect a 15 minute wait to pass through security. Please plan accordingly.

  • Illustration of pants showing phone taken out of pockets

Pack lightly for faster screening. These items are prohibited inside the facility: weapons, including pepper spray and fixed-blade knives (except fold-out pocket knives with a blade size less than 4″).
