Join us for this annual living history celebration honoring George Washington and his significance to American history. Washington’s Ball includes live 19th-century music by the Independent Silver Band of Mount Vernon, IL and a historical dance workshop led by Deborah Hyland. Visitors are invited to try out the moves, or to hang back and watch others dance. Historical clothing is not required to participate, but if you are own historic clothing and are interested in officially volunteering for the event, you may do so by contacting the park’s volunteer coordinator at barbara_michel@nps.gov. The event is located on the mezzanine level of the Visitor Center at Gateway Arch National Park and is free and open to all ages.
