Meet the Builders Day (Free)

The builders of the Gateway Arch will reunite in celebration of the completion of the Arch, when they put the final piece of the monument into place 59 years ago. On Saturday, October 26, the National Park Service will host Gateway Arch National Park’s annual “Meet the Builders” event from 10 am to noon in the Arch tram lobby. The public can meet the engineers, tradesmen and support staff who contributed to the construction of the Gateway Arch. The Arch was completed, on October 28, 1965.

At the event, a small group of builders will share memories, private memorabilia and photographs with attendees, and sign autographs. The Arch Store, located in the Arch tram lobby, will sell $1 commemorative posters for autographing.

Crafts and activities will be set up for the public to participate in on the Mezzanine level of the facility from 11 am to 2 pm.

This is a free event that is open to all ages.

We also encourage guests to purchase a ticket to watch the award-winning documentary “Monument to the Dream” inside Tucker Theater at the Arch. The 35-minute film depicts the inspiration behind architect Eero Saarinen’s timeless design and the determination of the men who brought the Gateway Arch to life. It plays at the top of every hour from 10 am until close, click here to learn more.
