The night sky is full of interesting sights that can be seen with the unaided eye, whether you are city bound or have access to dark country skies. Many of the brighter stars, constellations, and planets visible in this summer’s sky have fascinating stories and lore behind them. Learn about this in a Ranger led program. Weather permitting, free telescope viewing will be held on the Entrance Plaza following this program from 8-10 pm, with great views of the first quarter moon available. The talk will take place regardless of the weather, while the telescope viewing could be cancelled in the event of inclement weather- call 314-655-1704 on the afternoon of July 12th to check if you’re not sure.
