THE GATEWAY ARCH ON CUPID DUTY THIS VALENTINE’S DAY

February 9, 2018

Categories: Arch Grounds , Gateway Arch , St. Louis , Things to Do

If you’ve already made your Valentine’s Day plans, good for you! But for all the procrastinators out there: Ditch the fancy restaurant and expensive flowers, and instead enjoy a romantic afternoon at the Gateway Arch! Pink-Arch.gif

Here are four fun and flirty ideas that are sure to make your sweetie swoon.

  1. Pack an assortment of fruits and chocolates, enjoy a stroll through the renovated park grounds and picnic in the shadow of the Gateway Arch at the park’s new North Gateway. (Tweet your outdoor getaway to the Arch… Archie would love to hear from you!)

  2. Propose to your sweetheart at the top Gateway Arch, just like Bret Sietrich did in 2013 (you can view the video here). For high schoolers, the Arch is a great site for a “promposal” too!

  3. No visit to the Gateway Arch is complete without a Tram Ride to the Top! Snuggle up to your honey as you ascend 630 feet to the top of the Arch in the monument’s famous trams – then enjoy views of St. Louis and the Mississippi River from every which way. (Wanting to keep your feet at ground level? Head to the Arch’s Tucker Theater to watch an award-winning documentary on the building of the Arch.)

  4. What’s Valentine’s Day without chocolate? Delicious fudge is made fresh daily at The Arch Store, located in the lobby. Choose from 12 tasty flavors, or grab one of each to enjoy with your sweetheart.
